In the fiercely competitive global equipment manufacturing landscape, European standards remain one of the toughest benchmarks for overseas suppliers. Shanghai Heat Transfer Equipment Co., Ltd. (SHPHE) has successfully completed and delivered its gas-gas exchanger to Hungary—fully compliant with EU regulations—demonstrating the company’s robust manufacturing and quality assurance capabilities.
The project required all design and fabrication to meet EU regulations and welding quality system requirements. SHPHE applied EU standards to material selection, design, production and inspection. We specifically enhanced structural strength, fatigue resistance and corrosion protection to meet on-site working conditions, ensuring long-term reliability and safe equipment performance.
Welding quality was the core of this project. Having carried out professional welding procedure qualifications to EU standards and developed precise operational specifications, the company successfully secured the EN ISO 3834-2 international welding quality system certification. In the process, it passed all 15 welding qualification tests on the first attempt, and six of its welders earned nine EU qualifications—a clear testament to SHPHE’s world-class expertise in welding technology, quality management, and manufacturing capacity.
All critical welds underwent 100% post-weld non-destructive testing as required by EU standards. Strict full-process compliance provided solid quality assurance for handover, confirming our capacity to steadily produce plate heat exchangers meeting Europe’s stringent requirements.
The supplied plate-type gas-gas heat exchanger has a heat transfer area of 1,400 m². Its modular block design allows for flexible combination with different material modules, offering broad structural adaptability. This makes it ideal for the refining, chemical, steel, metallurgical and power industries.
This successful delivery marks a key milestone in SHPHE’s global expansion strategy. Going forward, we will keep developing high-performance plate heat exchangers and leverage premium standards and core technologies to support more international projects.
